Middlebury, Ind. - Indiana Renewable Energy Association will be the host of an open house of two green Nappanee, Ind., businesses on Saturday, June 13.

The public is invited to view these renewable energy installations. Rep. Wes Culver of Elkhart County will speak at noon at McCormick Motors, followed by presentations on renewable energy.

McCormick Motors features a 6kW Solar Grid-Tied System installed in February 2009 by Home and Mobile Energy of Middlebury. The installation was partially funded by a grant from the Indiana Alternative Energy and Power Grant Program. McCormick's has taken many other energy conservation steps, including adding insulation, high-efficiency lighting and demand only programmable equipmen.

UNL Furs' renewable energy system, installed in September 2008 by Home and Mobile Energy, includes both solar and wind power applications. This off-grid 2.5 kW Solar System and 1kW Wind System provides power for this fur buying and trading business.
