 A natural control for mosquitoes is Bacillus thuringiensis israeliensis, or Bti, which kills the larvae of mosquitoes and black fly. Bti comes in solid dunks or a granular form, called Aquabac.
Either can be used safely wherever mosquitoes breed, such as at the
periphery of ponds, lakes, flooded orchards, ditches, pastures, sewage
or animal waste lagoons, roof gutters and run-off areas. It comes in
several sizes, beginning at $9.95 for six dunks. Available at area
