At Indiana Living Green, we believe that all of us have an obligation to contribute to the health of our planet.

Lynn Jenkins believes that everyone can make a difference in nature, if we each do small things and work toward larger efforts.

Since she was a kid, decades ago, Lynn has enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing and, over time, just being in nature. She has gardened organically "forever," just because it never made sense to her to throw chemicals on things you'd put in your mouth! Although her huge veggie garden has shrunk and is now limited almost entirely to tomatoes, she still tends wildlife gardens for birds, butterflies and pollinators. She is a Habitat Steward Host for National Wildlife Federation, editor of Hoosier Organic Gardener, the newsletter of the Indiana Organic Gardeners Association www.gardeningnaturally.org, and a member of Garden Writers Association.

Lynn's interest in sustainable living has expanded from simple recycling and wildlife gardening to encouraging others to appreciate nature and do what each can to protect the environment. The creation of Indiana Living Green comes from her belief that most individuals have an inner desire to do what is best for our environment, and that each little act does make a difference.

Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp believes that we need to take care of our Mother, however we can.

Jo Ellen's notion of earth friendly practices has evolved since 1989, when she started writing the weekly Hoosier Gardener in The Indianapolis Star. Since its inception, the column has emphasized natural gardening methods while inspiring gardeners to try new plants, follow good growing practices and appreciate nature. Her goal is always to help gardeners succeed.

A self-described trial and error, seat of the pants gardener, she is a popular speaker about gardening, plants and other down and dirty topics. A former newspaper reporter, she writes regularly for newspapers, magazine, trade journals, corporations and not-for-profits.

She is a director of Garden Writers Association and co-author of The Indiana Gardener's Guide. Besides The Star, she writes a regular gardening column for Angie's List magazines, and is a garden coach.
